Updated
This site is run by Anton Yudin (BuzzAerial), San Diego, California. This page explains what happens to the information you give me here.
What I collect
When you send a message. The message form asks for your name, the property address, your phone number and your email address, plus an optional note. It reaches me as an email.
When you hold a day. The “Not ready to book?” form asks for the listing date and your phone number, and optionally the address. It reaches me as an email.
When you book a shoot. The booking panel asks for your name, your email address and the property address. A note about the property and the email addresses of any guests are optional. It also uses your time zone, so the times are shown in yours. When you confirm, the shoot is added to my calendar, and I send you a confirmation with links to move or cancel it, and reminders before it. The booking is kept in Multimar, the software I use to keep track of my bookings and correspondence. If you move or cancel the shoot, that is kept with it.
When you apply to fly with BuzzAerial. The pilot application on the careers pages asks for your name, email address, phone number, city or ZIP code, portfolio links, your FAA Part 107 status and the name on your certificate, your experience, equipment and skills, the areas you serve, your availability, your usual rate and whether you carry drone insurance, plus an optional note. It reaches me as an email. I use it only to evaluate your application and to contact you about contractor work, and I keep it for up to 24 months unless you ask me to delete it sooner.
When you check an address. The airspace checker sends the address you type to the U.S. Census Bureau’s address lookup and to the FAA’s public drone airspace map, and the suggestions while you type come from Photon, an OpenStreetMap address service. I do not keep the addresses you check.
When you visit. The site keeps a record of your visit under a random number instead of a name:
- which pages you opened, how long each was in front of you, and how far down it you went
- which buttons and links you clicked, including the steps of the booking panel, such as opening it or the day you looked at
- whether you were on a computer or a phone
- the name of the site that sent you here, such as “google.com”. Never the address of the page you came from, and never what you searched for
It does not record anything you type, your mouse movements, or your screen. The number is kept in your browser, so a later visit from the same browser is recognised as the same visitor. It carries no name and no email address. If you book a shoot from that browser, the number is joined to the name and email address you give, and your earlier visits then show with them.
If I emailed you and you followed a link in that email, the link carries a short code that tells this site which email you came from, and your visit is recorded under that code instead of a random number.
The site also counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you.
Visits from bots. The site counts visits from AI and search bots, such as the ones ChatGPT or Google send to read pages: the page, the bot’s name and its IP address. People are not recorded this way.
Automatically. My hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, as part of running and protecting the site. When you send a form, your IP address is held in memory for a few minutes to stop the same visitor from sending hundreds of messages at once. It is never written to disk. Your IP address is not stored with the record of a visit.
What I do not collect
There are no advertising pixels and no advertising trackers on this site. I do not sell or share personal information, and I do not use it for advertising. The record of a visit is never used to find out who you are.
Cookies and what is kept in your browser
This site sets no cookies. It keeps the random number described above in your browser’s storage, and, if you came from one of my emails, that short code. Each stays for 90 days after your last visit and is then removed. You can remove them sooner by clearing this site’s data in your browser. Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal; this site does not change what it does when it receives one.
Why I have it
I use what you send me to reply to you, to plan and fly the shoot you booked, to deliver your video, and, if you applied to fly, to evaluate your application. I do not add you to a mailing list because you wrote to me or booked a shoot. The record of a visit shows me what was useful to you and where this site is unclear.
Who else sees it
- Resend delivers the emails your forms become.
- Vercel hosts the site, keeps the server logs described above, and counts visits.
- Google runs my calendar and email: a booked shoot is added to my calendar, and the confirmation and reminders are sent from my Google mailbox.
- Supabase stores the record of visits, the bot visits and the shoots booked on this site, for Multimar.
- The U.S. Census Bureau, the FAA and Photon receive the addresses you check in the airspace checker, as described above.
They act as service providers. Nobody buys this information from me, because I do not sell it.
How long it is kept
Messages live in my email inbox, and bookings and the record of your visits in Multimar, for as long as they are useful to our work together, the way anyone keeps email. Ask me to delete them and I will. Server logs are kept on my host’s normal schedule.
Your rights in California
Under the CCPA and CPRA you can ask me to tell you what personal information I hold about you, to delete it, or to correct it. That includes the record of your visits. You can also ask me not to sell or share it, though I do neither. Exercising any of these will never mean worse treatment from me. To make a request, email anton@buzzaerial.com. I will reply within 45 days, and usually the same week.
Children
This site is for real estate professionals. It is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If what the site does changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves.
